Burns & Wilcox Completes Personal Insurance Practice Group Structure with Addition of Pamela Alphabet

Company has experienced 30 percent new business growth since launch in early 2019

Detroit, Mich. (December 4, 2019)Burns & Wilcox, North America’s leading and largest personal insurance wholesale broker and underwriting manager, today announced the addition of Pamela Alphabet to its leadership team. Alphabet joins Burns & Wilcox as Regional Practice Group Leader, Western Region, Personal Insurance, based in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Alphabet will partner with the company’s offices in California, Arizona and Nevada to offer a focused regional strategy that will continue to build expertise and strengthen relationships with national retail partners. She reports to Bill Gatewood, Corporate Senior Vice President, National Practice Group Leader, Personal Insurance, Burns & Wilcox, Detroit/Farmington Hills, Michigan.

“Pamela’s underwriting and sales acumen and experience in high-risk wildfire states will be an indispensable asset for our Burns & Wilcox offices in the Western Region,” said Gatewood. “Adding Pamela completes our practice group structure with our current leaders, which includes Mary Mullen in Illinois, Kate Wright in Indiana, Anella Niewenhous in North Carolina, and Rachel Salter in Louisiana. With decades of experience in personal insurance and expertise in the affluent market, Alphabet most recently served as an underwriting consultant for Nationwide Private Client, handling their largest VIP accounts across California. She has also worked as a retail agent, a territory sales manager for a wholesale operation and has held a variety of underwriting and sales positions with Nationwide Private Client and Fireman’s Fund.

Since the launch of the practice group structure on January 1, 2019, Burns & Wilcox has experienced 14 percent top line growth and 30 percent new business growth in personal lines.
