Burns & Wilcox-Sponsored Webb Simpson Wins RBC Heritage at Harbour Town, Now Ranks First in Fedex Cup Standings

Farmington Hills, Mich. – Burns & Wilcox, North America’s leading insurance wholesale broker and underwriting manager, congratulates Webb Simpson, one of its brand ambassadors, on winning the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links this weekend in Hilton Head, South Carolina. This was Simpson’s second victory this season following the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February, and third since joining Team Burns & Wilcox.

“It feels great to be playing again and I am proud of the ongoing support from Burns & Wilcox on and off the course,” said Simpson. “The company’s commitment to integrity and staying true to familial values is something I carry with me as well and I am grateful to share another win with them, especially on a special Father’s Day weekend.”

As one of four players sharing the lead to start the final round, Simpson was two holes into Sunday when a storm settled over Harbour Town Golf Links, forcing a more than two hour delay. He emerged from the pack with birdies at holes 12 and 13 and with another at hole 15, tying for the lead with Abraham Ancer and Tyrrell Hatton. Simpson’s 18-footer for birdie at the hole 17 sealed the victory.

“We congratulate Webb on his outstanding performance at RBC Heritage,” said Alan Jay Kaufman, President, Chairman and CEO, H.W. Kaufman Group, parent company of Burns & Wilcox. “Burns & Wilcox is excited the PGA has been able to effectively restart, keep fans and players safe, and showcase the ability to adjust to new conditions. This victory builds on our brand ambassadors’ continued success that also reflect the resiliency and determination within the insurance industry.”

The victory was Simpson’s seventh on the PGA Tour and secures his place as the fifth ranked player in the world, a cherished new leg in his honorary Parental Slam. He claimed the 2012 U.S. Open on Father’s Day and the 2018 Players Championship on Mother’s Day, marking this past Sunday his second win on Father’s Day.

Burns & Wilcox currently sponsors PGA golfers Webb Simpson and Jimmy Walker. The sponsorship with Walker began in 2016 and expanded to include Simpson in 2017. Walker wears the Burns & Wilcox logo on the right side of his golf shirt and Simpson showcases the logo on the left side of his golf shirt. The company logo is also featured on Simpson’s caddy’s hat. The company also sponsors Justin Abdelkader, alternate captain of the Detroit Red Wings. In addition, Burns & Wilcox has an official partnership with the Detroit Red Wings and the company’s logo is visible at center ice of Little Caesars Arena.

The brand ambassadors share the company’s core values of integrity, hard work, competitiveness and professionalism, aligning with the Burns & Wilcox company culture. To learn more about Team Burns & Wilcox, visit https://www.burnsandwilcox.ca/team-burns-and-wilcox/.
